Behind the Scenes of My First Home Staging—and Why I’m Hooked

When I took on my first home staging project, I knew it was something I would love. At the heart of my business is a simple belief—everyone deserves a home they love, whether it’s a full-scale renovation or a quick refresh to help a property shine. Staging felt like a natural extension of that mission, and the experience didn’t disappoint. In this post, I’m sharing how I stumbled into staging, what I learned along the way, and why it might just become a new part of my design services.

A few weeks ago, I got a call from a local builder looking for help with staging. There’s something so reassuring about working with familiar faces, and I was excited to collaborate with the husband-and-wife team at Davis Homes. With their business growing steadily, they hadn’t had much time to focus on staging their newly built homes, and I was more than happy to step in.

While there will be plenty of future projects, the first home that needed attention was already on the market. The existing furniture was staying—it just needed a little design magic to bring out its full potential!

The Before

This 1,500 sq. ft. home featured an open floor plan and an abundance of natural light. But as I walked through, the first thing that stood out was how desaturated the space felt. It was clear that adding more dimension and a touch of color would instantly make the home feel warmer and more inviting!

The After

By rearranging the furniture, I was able to create a cozier, more layered feel to the open living areas. Adding greenery and contrasting colors to each space, immediately made such an impact! Now this home looks and feels much more welcoming!

Diving into staging was such an exciting and rewarding challenge! As you may know, my design services typically focus on digital packages. While I love connecting with clients across the country and helping them create homes they love, one downside is not always getting to see the finished spaces in person. Staging, on the other hand, offers the thrill of working with what’s already there, making thoughtful adjustments, and watching a home transform almost instantly.

I’m already looking forward to the next staging project on my list and I can’t wait to share the journey with you!

Until next time, may your home always tell your story!
